4 C's of 21st Century Business Practices - Communication / Collaboration / Critical Thinking and Problem Solving / Creativity and Innovation Schedule:
April 15th - introduce challenge, model tools, identify country of study, review resources, outline expectations, answer questions.
April 21th - students work in teams on challenge / teacher answers technical questions /asks clarifying questions
April 27th - students complete team work, review other team's pages online (leaving constructive comments) and study in preparation for essay assessment
April 28th- students write cohesive, well-developed essay that compares and contrasts their own researched country to their randomly-assigned country. The essay should focus on comparing the evolution, as well as political, economic, and social impacts, of colonization and the independence movements in each country.
Look at the past history of your country. [What you have learned thus far this year.] Look into their movement toward decolonization. [Information from your current Chapters 19-20.] Look at what is happening there today. [Research to be done.] Your research and the resulting Nota page for presentation will be a study of the past, present, and future of your country. You must include the information about the government, economy, and living conditions as they relate to colonization. Your information should also include the political, social, and economic impacts of the independent movements in your country. Be sure to point out things like what changed and what stayed the same as well as the reasons for change or lack of change.
